    TINDAKAN PENGUAT KUASA KPDN KE ATAS PENJUALAN BERAS DENGAN HARGA MENGELIRUKAN

    Kementerian Perdagangan Dalam Negeri dan Kos Sara Hidup (KPDN) telah membuat serbuan di sebuah premis terkemuka yang menjual beras dengan harga mengelirukan di Bandar Putra Permai, Seri Kembangan pada 10 September 2023.

    Serbuan yang dilakukan oleh sepasukan anggota penguat kuasa daripada KPDN Putrajaya kira-kira jam 10.00 pagi itu adalah hasil aduan daripada orang awam yang diterima oleh pihak KPDN berhubung penjualan beras jenama Bird of Paradise Super Siam varian 10kg dengan harga yang mengelirukan.

    Hasil pemeriksaan awal mendapati, harga yang dipamerkan pada tanda harga beras jenama Bird of Paradise Super Siam 10kg itu adalah RM52.40 manakala harga yang dicetak pada plastik pembungkus beras berkenaan adalah RM48.80 dengan perbezaan harga sebanyak RM3.60.

    Hasil pemeriksaan lanjut, anggota penguat kuasa telah bertindak melakukan imbasan harga pada mesin pengimbas harga di premis berkenaan dan mendapati harga yang tertera melalui imbasan tersebut adalah RM52.40 berbanding harga pada pembungkus beras itu RM48.80.

    Tindakan kes telah dilakukan oleh pasukan serbuan di bawah Seksyen 12(1)(a) Akta Pelindungan Pengguna 1999 [Akta 599] iaitu memberi gambaran yang mengelirukan mengenai harga apa-apa barang atau perkhidmatan.

    Jika sabit kesalahan di bawah Akta 599 ini, mana-mana orang boleh didenda tidak melebihi RM50,000.00 atau dipenjarakan selama tempoh tidak melebihi tiga (3) tahun atau kedua-duanya sekali manakala bagi mana-mana pertubuhan perbadanan pula boleh didenda tidak melebihi RM100,000.00.

    KPDN juga akan mengambil tindakan undang-undang yang tegas ke atas mana-mana pihak yang didapati membuat perihal dagangan palsu mengenai kandungan, jenis atau nama di bawah Seksyen 5 Akta Perihal Dagangan 2011 [Akta 730] dan boleh dikenakan penalti seperti berikut:

    1. Individu; boleh didenda oleh mahkamah sehingga RM100,000.00 atau dipenjarakan tidak melebihi tiga tahun atau kedua-duanya; dan
    2. Syarikat; boleh didenda sehingga RM250,000.00.

    KPDN komited memberikan kerjasama dengan Kementerian Pertanian dan Keterjaminan Makanan (KPKM) melalui pelaksanaan kolaborasi bersepadu OPS JAMIN yang bermula 7 Julai 2023 dan akan menggiatkan tindakan penguatkuasaan di seluruh Negara dalam memastikan pengguna sentiasa mendapat bekalan Beras Putih Tempatan (BPT) dan Beras Putih Import (BPI) yang mencukupi dengan harga yang stabil dan terkawal.

    Berdasarkan statistik penguatkuasaan di bawah OPS JAMIN oleh KPDN bermula 7 Julai 2023 sehingga 12 September 2023, sebanyak 2,253 pemeriksaan telah dilakukan di seluruh Negara melibatkan pelbagai rantaian pengedaran termasuklah di peringkat pengilang, pemborong dan peruncit manakala sebanyak 121 aduan telah diterima dalam tempoh yang sama.

    KPDN ingin memberi amaran keras ke atas mana-mana individu/syarikat yang berkaitan agar sentiasa mematuhi perundangan yang telah ditetapkan termasuklah tidak mempamerkan harga mengelirukan ke atas barangan yang dijual.

    12,000 attendees from more than 50 nations attended V-Convention 2023 in the SPICE Arena Convention Center in Penang, Malaysia.     The focus of this forum is aligned with Malaysia’s Halal Industry Master Plan 2030 (HIMP 2030), which was recently launched by the Malaysia’s YAB Deputy Prime Minister on 23rd March 2023. Spearheaded by the Ministry of Investment, Trade, and Industry (MITI) and HDC, HIMP 2030 catalyzes Halal industry’s growth by leveraging on Malaysia’s unique Halal ecosystem, with the theme “Prominent, Visible, and Globalized Halal Malaysia,” HIMP 2030 strengthens Malaysia’s leadership in the global Halal industry by achieving greater positioning, strategic standpoint, and comprehensive national development. Malaysia’s Halal industry is projected to reach approximately RM231.1 billion by 2030 which is 10.8 percent of the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP), as targeted in the 12th Malaysia Plan.
