    THIRD DEFEAT FOR ARSENAL

Early this morning in English Premier League action, Arsenal fell 0–2 to West Ham, meaning they were unable to hold onto their home win. This was the first time this season that Arsenal have lost at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners dominated the visiting team in the match at the Emirates, but Arteta’s team lost because of carelessness in the attacking unit.

Soucek scored West Ham’s opening goal after the match referee verified it via VAR.

In the 55th minute, Konstantinos Mavropanos, a former Greece international player for Arsenal, scored his team’s second goal.

The team of David Moyes had a chance to score a third goal, but David Raya of Arsenal saved Said Benrahma’s penalty kick in the final minute of play.

Due to their defeat in this game, Arsenal dropped to second position, two points behind Liverpool.

EFL CUP: LIVERPOOL QUALIFIED TO THE SEMI-FINALS

Liverpool lived up to the prediction when they beat West Ham United 5-1 at home early this morning. Liverpool reached a record 19th time in the semi-finals of the English League Cup.

Curtis Jones scored twice in the match then Dominik Szoboszlai, Cody Gakpo and star Mohamed Salah, who was only brought on after an hour, also scored for Jurgen Klopp’s side who ran rampant in the last 20 minutes.

Gakpo blasted over from the corner of the penalty box before Jarrod Bowen pulled one back for The Hammers in the 77th minute.

Salah then grabbed a goal in the 82nd minute before Jones completed his second two minutes later, slotting past the West Ham defense with ease that left manager David Moyes red-faced.

The first semi-final will be held on the week of January 8 while the second semi-final will begin on January 22.
