Liverpool lived up to the prediction when they beat West Ham United 5-1 at home early this morning. Liverpool reached a record 19th time in the semi-finals of the English League Cup.
Curtis Jones scored twice in the match then Dominik Szoboszlai, Cody Gakpo and star Mohamed Salah, who was only brought on after an hour, also scored for Jurgen Klopp’s side who ran rampant in the last 20 minutes.
Gakpo blasted over from the corner of the penalty box before Jarrod Bowen pulled one back for The Hammers in the 77th minute.
Salah then grabbed a goal in the 82nd minute before Jones completed his second two minutes later, slotting past the West Ham defense with ease that left manager David Moyes red-faced.
The first semi-final will be held on the week of January 8 while the second semi-final will begin on January 22.
