And with a colossal RM55,000 prize pool on the line, the stakes have never been higher.

    Kelab Sukan SAM (KSS) Sports and Events Management, the visionary force behind this grand event, is dedicated to showcasing and nurturing Malaysia’s finest cue talents. “Our mission is to create opportunities and competitive pathways for players to discover and develop talents for Malaysia,” proclaimed Mr. Sam Sathishkumar, Partner and Head of Operations at KSS. This ambitious declaration underscores their commitment to pushing Malaysian cue sports into the global spotlight.

    Breaking barriers and adding a surge of excitement, this year’s tournament features a formidable all-women’s team. This groundbreaking move not only highlights the inclusivity of the sport but also dispels outdated myths about cue sports. In response to this enthusiasm, the prize money has been dramatically boosted from RM38,000 to an astounding RM55,000, setting a new benchmark for cue sports competitions in the region.

    Officially sanctioned by the Malaysian Snooker and Billiards Federation (MSBF), the 8 Blackball Super Cup Challenge 2024 ensures top-tier organization and recognition. MSBF President Mr. Melvin Chia praised the organizers, saying, “With this tournament’s format and attractive prizes, we’re raising the bar and attracting a broader audience.” His vision of seeing BlackBall featured in major multi-sport events like the SEA Games and Asian Games adds a thrilling dimension to this already sensational event.

    Prepare for intense competition and high-stakes drama. Twenty-six teams will engage in a fierce round-robin battle across four groups, complete with home and away matches.     The Malaysia Cup Squash Tournament witnessed intense competition as the country’s talented singles players showcased their abilities in Seremban. As predicted, two standout players advanced to the semi-finals after defeating their opponents with finesse and determination. Their impressive victories highlighted their mastery of the game, captivating spectators and enthusiasts alike. The tournament’s atmosphere was charged with excitement, setting the stage for a thrilling semi-final clash that promises to deliver exceptional squash action.

    The country’s women’s single, S. Sivasangari, first confirmed progress when she beat Hong Kong’s representative, Lee Ka Yi, 3-0.

    The seventh seed won in straight sets 11-9, 11-9, 11-5.

    Waiting for him in tomorrow’s final is top seed from Egypt, Nour El Tayeb.

    Following in the men’s event, Ng Eain Yow, who defeated the sixth seed from France, Sebastien Bonmalais, also with a 3-0 result.

    Eain Yow, as the fourth seed, won 11-6, 11-9, 11-2, and will face the second seed from Egypt, Karim Abdel Gawad, in the semi-finals tomorrow.

    Muhammad Naqib Abu Bakar merupakan peserta dari Malaysia yang telah menjadi Juara Pertandingan Local Speed, manakala naib juara oleh peserta dari Singapura, Koh Chen Pin dan Muhammad Faiz Saifulrahman dari Malaysia menjadi pemenang tempat ketiga.

    Baru-baru ini pada 15 Ogos 2023, AEON Mall Shah Alam telah mengadakan satu pertandingan parkour yang disaksikan oleh dua Kumpulan terpilih bagi Pertandingan Local vs World Speed yang diadakan di ruang legar aras bawah beli-belah Aeon Mall Seksyen 13 Shah Alam.

    Bagi pihak Local, ia diwakili oleh Muhammad Naqib Abu Bakar dan Muhammad Faiz Saifulrahman dari Malaysia, Koh Chen Pin serta Gwen dari Singapura manakala Wakil Antarabangsa pula diwakili oleh Stephanie Zitis dari Australia, Caryl Cordt Moeller dari Switzerland dan Javier Rodriguez dari Mexico.

    Antara wajah yang turut memeriahkan acara ini adalah Timbalan Menteri Kementerian Belia dan Sukan, Y.Bhg Adam Ali, yang menyemarakkan suasana dengan semangat dan sokongan beliau terhadap sukan. Sama-sama menghiasi jemputan istimewa adalah Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif Persekutuan Gimnastik Antarabangsa(FIG) yang tidak lain adalah Morinari Watanabe, serta Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif Persekutuan Gimnastik Malaysia, Dato Tan Gin Soon. Kehadiran mereka memberikan capaian global kepada acara ini, menggambarkan betapa pentingnya parkour dalam arena sukan dunia.

    Namun, pesona semakin meluas dengan sentuhan keanggunan dari Setiausaha Pertama Konsulat Jepun Malaysia, Daisuke Takakashi, yang mewakili hubungan antara dua negara dan menggambarkan sokongan diplomatic kepada acara ini. Juga turut hadir adalah Timbalan Pengarah Urusan AEON Malaysia, Naoya Okada, yang membuktikan komitment AEON dalam mempromosikan gaya hidup sihat dan menyokong acara-acara sukan yang inovatif. Tidak terkecuali adalah kehadiran atlet-atlet parkour dari Jerman, Jepun, serta Filipina yang menyumbangkan elemen pelbagai budaya dan prestasi dalam acara ini.

    Pertandingan ini mempertontonkan peserta-peserta yang penuh ketangkasan mengatasi halangan-halangan di kawasan pertandingan. Mereka berlari, meloncat, dan melakukan gerakan melambung (flip) dengan mahir, tanpa bergantung kepada peralatan, dalam masa terhad 45 minit. Kemenangan jatuh kepada wakil antarabangsa yang menakluki halangan-halangan dengan cepat dan penuh cekap.

    Selepas pertandingan ini, AEON Mall akan berusaha untuk mempromosikan lagi sukan parkour di pusat beli-belah AEON seluruh negeri dalam usaha mereka memperkenalkan gaya hidup sihat kepada komuniti-komuniti persekitaran. Tambahan pula, parkour adalah sukan yang melibatkan pergerakan melalui halangan-halangan fizikal dengan kreatif dan efisien, dan ia tidak hanya baik untuk kesihatan fizikal malah ia juga mempunyai manfaat lain yang berharga.
