    SELANGOR FC – ACL 2 HERE WE GO

    Selangor Fc’s victory last night qualifies them for Asia Champion League 2, Selangor Fc managed to defeat their challenger, Kedah FC with a score of 1-0 at the Darul Aman Stadium just now.

     

    Even sweeter, the success achieved by Tan Cheng Hoe’s men from Kedah also booked a place in the AFC Cup competition next season without having to wait for the last league match.

     

    The victory of The Red Giants was also witnessed by the Young Ruler of Selangor, Tengku Amir Shah Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah who went to the rice granary with more than 2,000 supporters of The Red Giants.

    The match was lively throughout the 90 minutes with KDA’s determination to find an early goal clearly visible when they first made a direct attempt at the visitor’s goal.

     

    Despite the dangerous moves made by the hosts, The Red Giants showed their fangs again in the 15th minute through Yohandry Orozco’s swiped shot which was however deflected out by Kalamullah Al-Hafiz to the right of the goal.

     

    But Selangor seems to get a new tonic after the entry of Brendan Gan as a right winger. In the 57th minute, Brendan’s cross was successfully grabbed by Noor Al-Rawabdeh but the ball was pushed straight to Kalamullah who was in the middle of the goal to save the situation.

     

    After several attempts, the only goal of the match came in the 64th minute for Selangor. Brendan’s cross landed right at the feet of their main striker from Colombia, Ayron Del Valle Rodriguez, who easily pushed past Kalamullah.

    Selangor FC hopes to win the game tomorrow night and secure a spot in the AFC Cup for the following year.

    Selangor’s quest to win the final game and earn a spot in the AFC Cup would be set in motion if they triumph tomorrow night.

    Because the game will take place at Kedah’s Darul Aman Stadium, which is expected to be packed with Kedah football fans, Tan Cheng Hoe’s team needs to concentrate and put early pressure on the opposition. Kedah also needs three complete points to secure a spot in the AFC CUP.

    With 55 points, Selangor is now in second place, while Kedah is in third place with 53 points.

    With their victory last night, SABAH FC earned 12 points, making them the group H champions and advancing to the next round. In the match, Sabah Fc defeated Hougang United 4-1 at Jalan Besar Stadium in Singapore.

     

    The match, which took place in the rain, was stopped for almost 20 minutes due to a flash warning immediately after an own goal by Naoki Kuriyama after he pushed in Daniel Ting’s cross in the 15th minute.

     

    The match momentum was significantly disturbed when play resumed due to the sluggish pitch, but Datuk Ong Kim Swee’s team persevered and won a penalty kick after Miguel Cifuentes was hauled down.

     

    Sang Badak led by two goals at the end of the first half thanks to Darren Lok’s easy completion of the penalty kick in the 45th minute, which was Sabah’s second goal and his sixth personal goal in the AFC Cup this season.

     

    Sabah continued their attacking pace as soon as the second half continued and managed to get the third goal when Ramon Machado made an interesting volley after receiving a beautiful feed from Cifuentes for the third goal.

    Sabah continued to launch attack after attack but were hit by the crossbar and the finisher was blunt despite having many opportunities in front of Hougang United’s goal.

     

    Sabah added a fourth goal in the 78th minute through another own goal this time from Anders Aplin who deflected in Rizal Ghazali’s beautiful pass to give Sabah a stylish victory.

     

    Hougang United got a consolation goal through Gabriel Quak in stoppage time to make it 4-1 and Sabah confirmed their fourth win from five games and 12th point which saw them qualify for the zonal semi-finals following in the footsteps of Kuala Lumpur City FC last season

    Manchester United’s main goalkeeper, Andre Onana who failed to catch the ball was the reason why Manchester United did not bring home 3 points in the first game of the season.

    Manchester United take home a point with Galatasary and are in last place in group A.

    Alejandro Garnacho, Bruno Fernandes and Scott McTominay scored for United in the thrilling match, but Erik ten Hag’s side remain bottom of Group A with four points from five games, one point behind Copenhagen and Galatasaray.

    The three-time European champions’ dream of qualifying will be decided on the final day of group stage action after Copenhagen drew 0-0 at Bayern Munich.

    The visitors took a 2-0 lead through Garnacho and a superb strike from Fernandes before Hakim Ziyech pulled one back with a free-kick following an Onana error.

    McTominay put United 3-1 up shortly after the break but their advantage was short-lived as Ziyech tucked another free-kick under the arm of Onana and Muhammed Kerem Akturkoglu equalized for Galatasaray in the 71st minute.

    Galatasaray welcomed United to RAMS Park with a “Welcome to Hell” banner in one corner of the stadium and it was clearly aimed at Onana.

    MFL CHALLENGE CUP – PDRM FC defeated Kuching City 3-0

    The PDRM FC team showed their prowess at home, securing a 3-0 victory over Kuching City FC in the inaugural final of the 2023 Challenge Cup.

    The Sang Saka Biru squad managed by Datuk Ahmad Yunus Mohd Alif, clearly dominated most of the game in the first half by creating many opportunities to score goals.

    Continuing the second half, PDRM doubled their attack and as a result they were in front, after Marcus Papee Macauley made a cross into the Kuching City penalty area which was then completed with a header by Mohamad Nabil Ahmad Latpi, in the 53rd minute.

    15 minutes later, Uche Agba provided comfort for PDRM after a solid shot in the penalty box, deflected off the left hand of opposing goalkeeper Wan Muhammad Azraie Wan Teh before the ball entered the Kuching City goal.

    PDRM team captain Amir Saiful Badeli ensured a comfortable supply for the second final (reciprocal) this Sunday at Stadium Negeri, Sarawak with the third goal in the last minutes of the game after he took advantage of the confusion that occurred in front of the visiting team’s goal.
