SELANGOR FC : MBPJ STADIUM WILL BE UPGRADED FOR (ACL 2) NEXT YEAR

Malaysian Super League 2023 has drawn its curtain and Selangor Fc managed to finish the competition as runners-up of Super League after collecting 61 points from 26 games in total. The success qualifies Selangor FC to the stage of the Asian Champions League 2 which will take place next year 2024.

In addition, the athletes are more motivated to play next year after their achievement.

However, in the joy there was a moment of concern for the supporters of the Red Giants team regarding the condition of the Petaling Jaya City Council Stadium (MBPJ) which does not meet the criteria set to be the venue for the AFC match.

Appearing to answer the supporters’ confusion, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Selangor FC, Dr. Johan Kamal Hamidon however insisted that MBPJ will make an upgrade process to meet all the required standards.

The MBPJ Stadium used by the Selangor squad since 2021 has a capacity of 25,000 seats and unfortunately does not meet the standards of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Stadium Regulations.

Dr. Johan, he has as high as 95% confidence that the stadium will be used as a venue for Selangor FC to play in the ACL2 next year.
