In a vibrant celebration of Malaysia’s batik heritage, the annual Batik Fun Walk returns for its eighteenth consecutive year. This exhilarating event is organized by Yayasan Budi Penyayang Malaysia (PENYAYANG) and receives invaluable support from esteemed partners including the Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) and Malaysia Tourism Centre (MaTiC). Additionally, it enjoys the endorsement of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture Malaysia (MOTAC). Held at the Malaysia Tourism Centre (MaTiC), this event promises to provide an immersive cultural experience, embracing participants of all ages and diverse backgrounds.

Mr. Zain Azrai Rashid, Acting Chief Executive Officer of MyCEB, underlines the importance of this event: “The Batik Fun Walk represents a fitness journey into the heart of Malaysia’s batik heritage, surrounded by the Kuala Lumpur skyline. Through this event, we celebrate the intricate craftsmanship, creativity, and cultural significance of batik while encouraging the general public to live a healthy lifestyle. MyCEB’s strategic partnership is instrumental in making this journey a reality, extending our reach to a wider audience, and amplifying the cultural significance of this celebration. It is worth noting that the event has attracted over 1000 participants, underscoring its growing popularity and the power of batik in uniting communities.”

Projek ‘Warm Their Winter’ Bertempat di Dewan Melati, Seksyen 7 Shah Alam

Bertempat di Dewan Melati, Seksyen 7 Shah Alam dari 14 Oktober hingga 22 Oktober 2023 telah berlangsung projek ‘Warm Their Winter’ oleh Syria Care bagi projek pengumpulan pakaian musim sejuk baharu dan terpakai melalui sumbangan orang ramai.

Sokongan yang ditunjukkan masyarakat di Lembah Klang dan juga luar dari negeri Selangor pada dua hari terakhir pengumpulan telah meningkatkan lagi sasaran 756 kotak pakaian musim sejuk baharu dan terpakai kepada 1,300 kotak dengan anggaran setiap satunya seberat 10 hingga 15 kilogram.

Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif Syria Care, Puan Siti Sakinah Binti Meor Omar Baki berkata, sumbangan pakaian yang meningkat dalam masa dua hari ini adalah satu keajaiban dari tuhan serta menunjukkan rakyat Malaysia sentiasa menjadi tangan awal dalam membantu mereka yang berada dalam kesusahan.

Cabaran dihadapi pihak Syria Care ketika ini adalah dana bagi menghantar kontena yang masih belum mencapai sasaran yang diperlukan dan masih berbaki RM90,000.

Syria Care turut berterima kasih atas khidmat sukarelawan yang disumbangkan dari Briged Sukarelawan Universiti Teknologi MARA (UITM), Management Science University (MSU), Kolej Poly-Tech Mara Cawangan Bangi (KPTM), Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI), Politeknik Nilai dan Universiti Malaya (UM).

Projek ini juga mendapat kerjasama serta sokongan Sinar Karangkraf, Min Qalby Foundation, Qalby App, World Peace Entertainment, Pertubuhan Kebajikan Dan Amal Wanita Selangor (PEKAWANIS), Majlis Bandaraya Shah Alam (MBSA), Majlis Perwakilan Penduduk Zon 3 (MPP ZON 3), De Haramin, Sasuke Bundle, Moon’s Kitchen serta Jakel Shah Alam.

Pelepasan kontena bantuan pakaian musim sejuk ini adalah fasa awal dari projek utama ‘Winter Aid’ Syria Care yang merangkumi bantuan pakaian musim sejuk (Warm Their Winter), bantuan bahan bakar (Fuel Aid) dan bantuan pek makanan (Order Food) dengan sasaran kutipan berjumlah RM1.3 juta sehingga Januari 2024.

Orang ramai yang ingin meringankan bebanan pelarian Syria dalam musim sejuk kali ini, boleh menyumbang kepada tabung ‘Winter Aid’ menerusi akaun Maybank: 562106653575 atau CIMB: 8601894560 dengan rujukan ‘WinterAid’.

Next on the list is deejay and producer DJ Isaac (Roel Schutrupsoel), from The Netherlands. He is one of the founders of hardstyle and has been at the forefront of harder dance music; a position he now holds for over 20 years. Always sticking his head out for new revolutions in sound, Schutrupsoel is a regular headliner at the world’s biggest dance festivals and events like Electric Daisy Carnival, Defqon.1 Festival, Qlimax and Decibel Outdoor. He is responsible for big hits like ’DJ, Ease My Mind’, ‘B*tches, ‘Digital Nation‘ and Stick Em’ and remixes for Martin Garrix, Dash Berlin, Yellow Claw & Showtek.

Also joining the incredible line up of acts for BCA, is new BBC Radio 1 resident Will Atkinson, who is an entity that truly congers up futuristic soundscapes for the jilted generation. Responsible for over 100 BBC Radio 1 airplays and 6 Beatport number 1s, the ambidextrous Atkinson who cannot be restrained by genre, began mixing records at the tender age of 7. He has certainly come of age with a long list of hit records that includes “Pat Butcher”, “Victims”, “Numb The Pain”, “Subconscious”, “Mesmerize” (ft Rowetta from The Happy Mondays), “The Gamer Changer”, “Fresh Meat”, all of which, are genre defining, chart topping, iconic titles that have set the bar uncomfortably high for Will’s peers to try and follow.

Having released on all of the scene’s coolest labels including Subculture, Kearnage, FSOE, Spinnin’, Armada, Perfecto Fluoro and Vandit, the demand for Will’s production skills is truly rampant.
