The event, widely recognized as Asia’s largest startup and innovation conference, gathered tens of thousands of participants and over 500 startups from across the globe, serving as a vibrant platform for fostering collaboration, innovation, and cutting-edge technological advancement to address global urban challenges.
Anuar Fariz Fadzil, CEO of MDEC, emphasized that the achievement reflects Malaysia’s growing international reputation as a reliable and attractive destination for digital investments. He attributed this success to the ingenuity and resilience of Malaysian digital entrepreneurs, as well as the country’s commitment to nurturing a robust technology ecosystem. Anuar noted that Malaysia’s strategic location in Southeast Asia, coupled with strong digital infrastructure, pro-business policies, and a vibrant talent pool, makes it an ideal launchpad for global technology collaborations. Government-led initiatives and proactive international engagements have further reinforced Malaysia’s role in driving digital transformation regionally and globally.
Acting as the Ambassador and Lead Organisation for the Malaysia Pavilion at Sushi Tech Tokyo 2025, MDEC collaborated with the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) Tokyo and the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO).
